PROGRAM: OPERATION BREAKTHROUGH

Program Speaker: We will welcome Jennifer Heinemann from Operation Breakthrough to update us on activities this past year. Sister Berta, co-founder of Operation Breakthrough, introduced the organization at last year’s November meeting. Clients are generally homeless, single mothers and most work in fast food restaurants, hospitals and hotels. Operation Breakthrough mentors clients to become independent, successfully employed and provide for their families. Panhellenic members found them so deserving that; once again, they will be our Philanthropy Project.

Philanthropy Project: Bring extra Christmas/Holiday Cards to insure there are enough to scomplete the project. Any Gift Cards provided will be placed into a card with a short holiday greeting written by our members. The following items are suggestions for donations to this worthwhile project.

• • Baby Diapers: sizes 3-4-5-6.

• • Feminine Products: clients unable to purchase with Food Stamps.

• • Toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. (travel or regular sizes).

• • Gift Cards: from Target, Wal-Mart, HyVee, Price Chopper, Payless Shoes (children’s shoes).

• • Check/Cash: provide Bus Passes and/or check (payable to OB).
