Think about sorority alumnae that you already know.
Family members, family friends, teachers, coaches, old babysitters...they are everywhere! Having your Recommendation written by someone you know is always best; however, any alumna can provide a Recommendation. It does not matter if she attended the same school that a prospective member is attending. Contact the alumna (phone or email) well before the deadline set for Formal Recruitment at that school. Cordially ask the alumna if she would be willing to write a Recommendation for her sorority. Some sororities accept online Recommendations; however, always offer to mail/email your Personal Resume to her providing a stamped envelope for her convenience. For most schools, one Recommendation per Sorority Chapter is sufficient. The alumna will do the rest by completing specific documents required by her sorority and forwarding your Personal Resume. A thank you note from is always recommended and appreciated by alumnae!
